COVID-19 Updates

We are pleased to let all of you who are 75 and older know that beginning January 11th you can receive your first Covid-19 vaccination here in the New River Valley.  The official statement follows:

"On Monday January 11, the New River Health District will begin Phase 1b of the vaccination rollout: inoculating frontline essential workers and individuals over the age of 75. A date for when Phase 1c starts has not yet been set. Vaccines are free: provided at no cost to the individual."

You must pre-register and then follow additional instructions in order to schedule your vaccine. That information is available at this New River Health District Website:

If you cannot get through on the website due to heavy traffic, you may wish to call the direct line Call Center at 540-267-8240. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, 8am-430pm.

I hope this helps! There is light at the end of the tunnel!
