Lent starts this coming week on Ash Wednesday, February 17. We will have Lent Packets for you to pick up Monday (2/15) morning from 10 am-12 pm or Tuesday (2/16) evening from 5pm-7 pm at the back door. The packets are designed to help people of all ages make the spiritual journey from Lent to Easter. The resources will go along with the theme for weekly worship services. Included in the packet will also be a Self-Guided Ash Wednesday Service. Other opportunities to grow during the Lent season:
--Read Lent Devotion Book—"Go to Jerusalem," a resource provided from our denomination (Christian Church Disciples of Christ.) You may pick the book up when you come for your Lent Packet.
-- Daily Lent Challenges through Flocknote
-- Weekly Book Study of "The World is About to Turn"
--Attend in-person or virtually Weekly and Holy Week Worship Services
-- Walk to Jerusalem Challenge
There are 6,124 miles between Radford and Jerusalem.
Let's collectively try to walk that many miles throughout Lent. Keep a count of your steps and reply to a weekly Flocknote to record them. We would love to see pictures and/or videos of your trek! You can email those to the church. We will keep an overall track of everyone's miles and keep a weekly log on the map of where we are located.
This will be a fun way to get active, work as a group, and grow in our faith.
All participants will receive a little gift upon completion. (More info to come)
