Music Ministry

The music ministry is an integral part of our worship/reaching up ministry.

The leadership of the ministry is made up of 3 part time staff: Choir Director, Organist, & Praise Team Leader.

They work together to coordinate and implement special music for every worship service. The music shared is a blend of various music genres including traditional hymns, praise songs, spirituals, bluegrass, etc.

We have a choir, handbell choir, and praise team. Our children occasionally lead in singing as well.

Accompanist Position Open:

Unity Christian Church located at 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, Virginia is seeking a part-time Accompanist (pianist/possibly organist) for up to 3 hours per week. Presence will be required on Sunday morning at least one hour prior to worship service and on Wednesday evenings as needed for choir practice. The successful applicant will:

• work closely with Minister(s), Choral Director and other music staff

• be available to provide music for special services throughout the year, including but not limited to Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve and others as planned by the Minister and Worship Team

• consider requests from Church families to provide music, if available for weddings (compensation for services is the responsibility of the family) and funeral services

• have a strong music background and knowledge in playing the piano and possibly the organ

• demonstrate ability to work effectively with adults and children

This is a part time position paid twice monthly at $25 per hour based on hours worked. There is no vacation/sick pay.
